how to prevent fusion to fill glpi_location with snmp location infos
#1
Hi all.
First ( as a newbie here ) i would like to say that booth glpi and fusioninventory are great. A great THX to the development team ! :)

Right now we have more then 1000 devices (server and switches , currently no pc-clients ) in our glpi ... and the system is still growing ....

We do have many snmp devices ( over 400) in glpi.

Unfortunately the smnp location information set by the local admins are mostly crap , like “server room” , “ DC” , “tower 12 room 8a” and so on.

I already imported all correct locations in our company from the central facility management so there is no need to add any snmp location information’s into the table glpi_locations.

Is there any “switch” in fusion4glpi to avoid this “location auto add“?

Or … as a quik fix 4 me , where is the magic line in the source code to turn of this location import …

THX 4 your help in advance

PS: I 4got the Version's used by us ... GLPI 0.84.7 , Fusioninventory4GLPI 0.84+3.0 , FusionInventory-Agent 2.3.9.1

Because there is no answer and this is still a "self-talk" ...

i created a dummy trigger that creates an error for the insert statement ...

--------------------------------------

DELIMITER $$

CREATE TRIGGER glpi_locations_check BEFORE INSERT ON `glpi_locations`
FOR EACH ROW
BEGIN
DECLARE dummy INT;
IF ( new.entities_id=-1)
THEN
SELECT 'not allowed' INTO dummy
FROM mytable
WHERE mytable.id=new.entities_id;
END IF;
END ;
$$

DELIMITER ;

--------------------------------------------------

anyway ... i'm still interessted on a "clean" solution , but i'm not able to find the right location in the source-code ...

pls help ... THX :-)

Hi, same problem...
Is there a way to avoid glpi location update?
We tried also using rules 'if serial exists, no location assigned', but locations still refreshes...
Locking fields is not a manageable process
Thanks in advance
