windows agent doesn't update inventories
#1
Hello!

I have a little problem with the fusioninventory agent on windows. The version of the agent is 9.4+2.0 and GLPI also runs on the actual version.

I use GLPI for my company (but I'm still a trainee so I lack a bit of experience) but the windows agent won't update the inventories daily like it should be. The linux agent works without problems and updates the inventories frequently. Sadly I don't know where the problem is. I was able to upload inventories manually when I installed the agent two weeks ago, but I wasnt even able to update them manually today.

Anyone know which settings I need to change and what I have to do with the agent, so that it will update the inventories automatically? I installed it as a service afaik.
Help would be very appreciated, I wanted to be finished by the end of the week. I used OCS before and it never caused problems.

Best regards!

Hi Ilucie

first 9.4+2.0 is the plugin version, not the agent version. And just for you to know, you still can update the plugin to 9.4+2.1 released a week ago (see http://fusioninventory.org/).

For the agent, you should take a look at the log (c:\Program Files\FusionInventory-Agent\logs\fusioninventory-agent.log by default with latest agent). Check for any error and report it there.

When running as a service, you have theoretically only to be sure to have set a "server" (and the right one of course). In the case your server is under SSL, you may have to set a parameter to trust the server certificate in the case the certificate has not been signed by a well-known authority. You can also install the server certificate with the agent.

Hello!

The agent is version 2.5.1, as I said I'm still a trainee Smile.

Well this is the only thing the log said when I tried to upload an actual inventory "[Thu Nov 21 12:02:02 2019][info] FusionInventory Agent memory usage: WSS=3162112 PFU=158363648". Nothing more. SSL is no problem.

I really have no clue whats wrong, since the linux agent works perfectly finde, OCS works perfectly fine on windows but the fusionagent wont.

Try to set the debug option to 1 or even 2 to see more informations in the log.
You can set it in registry (in HK_LM\Software\FusionInventory-Agent) and restart the service.

Then you still can try to force an inventory accessing from the same computer in a navigator the following address:
Code:
http://localhost:62354/

Hi llucie,

as you can see there's a line "[target server0] Next server contact planned for Mon Nov 25 09:29:26 2019".

Can you now check your log and report what happened around "Mon Nov 25 09:29:26 2019" ?

The errors "Failed to load Proxy Server plugin" and "Failed to load SecondaryProxy Server plugin" should not have any impact on normal inventory. And it is fixed in the coming 2.5.2 agent.

The log exploded with informations (sadly also personal stuff and I cant post it, because it is EXTREMELY LONG) and of course no new inventory uploaded :/

For me this means the agent contact the server, did the inventory and submitted it, unless you saw any communication error telling something else.

Then, you should probably check on the server side for any issue. Check eventually in FusionInventory plugin administration for ignored devices during import.

Do you have also in agent registered in the administration in the agents management page ?

There are no ignoried devices, I checked every setting and it should work (like it did with the linux inventories)

But sorry I dont understand what you mean with the agents management stuff. What should I do there?
